Who is a professional?

Traditionally, the term ‘professionals’ was limited to lawyers, engineers, accountants or doctors. However, the emergence of new risks continues to cause an increased reliance on specialists for a range of services. Consequently, this term is now broadened to include any person who provides “specialist advice or services”

As Kenyans become more litigious, there has been an emphasis on accountability and responsibility upon professionals who could be held responsible for a client’s financial loss if such was deemed to be the result of professional negligence.
